TOOL have announced a mammoth 2022 tour, with the Los Angeles-based band spending 3 months traversing the U.S. followed by a month of European dates. TOOL elected to kick off the highly-anticipated trek in Eugene, Ore. as a nod to the abrupt halt to their 2020 Fear Inoculum tour. Slated to play the Matthew Knight Arena on March 12, 2020, the show, along with the band’s remaining tour dates, was canceled as nationwide lockdowns began to take effect that evening. “It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road,” said Danny Carey. “These past 18 months have been trying to say the least but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are genuinely looking forward to sharing them with you.” Tickets for all dates are on-sale this Friday, Oct. 1 at 10 am local time (UK and Irish dates are on-sale at 9 am local time). TOOL Army members can purchase pre-sale tickets for European dates on Sept. 28 at 10 am local time (24 hour pre-sale window), while U.S. pre-sale tickets are available on Sept. 29 at 10 am local time (36 hour pre-sale window). A selection of exclusive packages, which include a pre-sale ticket, will also be made available to TOOL Army members on Sept. 29 at 10 am local time. “The capacity crowd was humming from the moment the doors opened.” Consequence “This was a great band showing what a great band could do with a bunch of amps and a big performance space. At this point in Tool’s career, they don’t have to prove that they’re a great live band. They just are one.” Dallas Observer “Two-plus hours onstage summoning sensory overload with power, finesse…” NOLA.com “Just over two years after the first leg of the Fear Inoculum tour, Tool returned this time to show just how dynamic its music and its most recent album still are…They are a great band no matter the theatrics, the venue size or the stage production. Tool may not be our generation’s Pink Floyd, but its shows are going to be just as memorable in the minds of those who experienced them. There is no way to walk away from a Tool show unmoved.” Dallas Observer “In every track there were moments on Friday when even the most casual fan had an opportunity to appreciate what Tool does so well. From the the group’s musicianship to their set design and artwork — never mind the rabid fanbase — there was plenty of entertainment to be had.” Houston Press “Musical mastery…an immersive experience of the songs…featured complex grooves & ferocious tenacity (by) one of the loudest and most unique rock bands around.” Glide Magazine “Tool’s strengths coalesced with a mid-set rendition of “The Grudge,” the epic opener off 2002 fan-favorite album Lateralus…and the clear peak of the performance, with virtually the entire crowd out of their seats.” Las Vegas Weekly “The crowd’s collective energy on Friday was as high as it was two years ago when Fear Inoculum — their first record in 13 years — had just come out.” Houston Press “The tone of the rhythm section is reminiscent of ’90s alt-rockers Jane’s Addiction and Faith No More, even if the rhythms themselves are infinitely more complex.” San Antonio Current “Cascade of graphics and videos stretching near stage-to-ceiling.” Las Vegas Weekly “The alt-metal legends hit San Antonio just as a winter storm queued up, though you wouldn’t know it from the temperature inside the AT&T Center, which crackled with energy. The band has a reputation for massive light shows and weird visuals, which it delivered in spades.” San Antonio Current For the Buffalo show: Purchase Buffalo tickets here HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY: Follow the most up-to-date policy Here. Fear Inoculum (http://smarturl.it/TOOLFIa) arrived in August of 2019, following years of anticipation. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200, shattering sales and radio records while also earning widespread critical praise. NPR said, “Fear Inoculum was worth the 13-year wait,” The Atlantic declared the release “precise and devastating,” Revolver dubbed the 10-track album “a masterpiece that will be dissected for years to come” and Consequence of Sound said Fear Inoculum finds “TOOL in peak performance.” |
